A modern bathroom refresh doesn’t need to start from zero to feel brand new, but this Fond du Lac project essentially did. The space was taken down to the studs – old tile floor, dated blue walls, and all — and rebuilt with a marble-tiled walk-in shower and a dark wood vanity that anchor the whole room.

The Project
The shower is the centerpiece here: a full walk-in design finished in large-format marble-look tile, with a built-in corner bench and a penny-tile floor and accent band that break up the palette without competing with it. A sliding glass door keeps the shower open to the rest of the room instead of closing it off. The vanity sits at the opposite end with a white countertop, paired with an elongated comfort-height toilet and wood-look plank flooring that runs the length of the room. It’s a full transformation from the dated tile and bright blue walls that this project started from.
The Features
Inside the shower, a slide-bar handheld showerhead sits alongside a fixed shower head, with two grab bars mounted at different heights and a built-in corner seat – practical additions that don’t compromise the finish quality. A niche set into the tile gives shower essentials a home without an added shelf unit. At the vanity, a three-light glass sconce fixture sits above a frameless mirror, with brushed nickel fixtures carried through the towel bars, ring, and faucet.
